Photo Report Layout Settings

Photo report layout settings allow you to control the structure of the photo table, placement of photos, and page display parameters in the final document. The function is used after uploading photos and determines how images and captions will be arranged in the DOCX file. The visual structure of the layout in the interface exactly matches the final document, allowing you to preview the result.

Where to Find Layout Settings

After uploading photos, a layout settings block appears on the page.

  • main block – located at the top of the page below the photo upload area
  • individual page settings – accessible via the gear icon in the top-right corner of each page

Applying settings

  • settings from the top block apply to the entire photo report
  • page settings let you set an individual photo report template
This allows you to use different photo table structures within a single document.

Photo Report Layout Options

Five layout options are available:

1. Table layout (default)

Image 1
Photos are placed in a photo table:
  • images distributed into cells
  • cell sizes calculated automatically
  • taking into account:
  • number of photos
  • image height
  • caption height
Additionally:
  • number of columns: 1 to 8 (default 2)
  • number of rows: 1 to 8 (default 4)
  • caption height: 1 to 8 lines (default 2)
Caption height is used when calculating cell sizes.

2. Photo left, description right

Image 1
  • photos arranged in a vertical list on the left
  • captions on the right, opposite each image
  • photo block width: 30–70% (default 70%)
Additionally:
  • number of rows: 1 to 8 (default 4)

3. Photo right, description left

Image 1
  • photos arranged on the right
  • captions on the left
  • photo block width: 30–70% (default 70%)
Additionally:
  • number of rows: 1 to 8 (default 4)

4. Photo top, description bottom

Image 1
  • photos placed in a row at the top of the page
  • captions below the images
  • photo block height: 30–70% (default 70%)
Additionally:
  • number of columns: 1 to 8 (default 2)

5. Photo bottom, description top

  • photos placed at the bottom of the page
  • captions above the images
  • photo block height: 30–70% (default 70%)
Additionally:
  • number of columns: 1 to 8 (default 2)

Structure parameters depend on the selected layout:

Number of columns

(layouts 1, 4, 5)
  • range: 1–8
  • default: 2
Determines the number of photos per row.

Number of rows

(layouts 1, 2, 3)
  • range: 1–8
  • default: 4
Determines the number of items vertically on a page.

Photo area size

  • layouts 2 and 3:
    • photo width — 30–70%
  • layouts 4 and 5:
    • photo height — 30–70%
The remaining space is used for descriptions.

Caption height

(only for table layout) - range: 1–8 lines - default: 2 Used when calculating cell heights. Increase this value if you are writing long photo descriptions.

Photo Report Page Settings

For each page, you can set:

  • page title
  • orientation:
  • portrait
  • landscape

Available for the entire photo report and for individual pages.

Fonts

Available only for the main layout.
  • font selection (supports basic Microsoft Word / LibreOffice fonts)
  • default: Times New Roman

Description text

  • font size: 8–18 (default 9)
  • alignment:
    • left
    • center
    • right
    • justified

Photo report title

  • position:
    • top of page
    • bottom of page
  • alignment:
    • left
    • center
    • right

Page margins

  • top | right | bottom | left: 6–30 mm
  • default: 6 mm

Padding

  • image padding from cell border
  • text padding from cell border

Borders

  • border thickness (px)
  • border color (default black)

Additional parameters

  • prefix for photo numbering
  • page format:
    • A4 (default)
    • A3
    • A5
    • B5

Automatic Page Management

When changing:

  • photo report layout
  • number of rows or columns
  • number of photos
the system automatically:
  • adds new pages
  • removes excess pages
New pages are created with the same settings as defined in the main layout block.

Layout Operation Features

  • layout can be configured for the entire photo report or for individual pages
  • structure changes affect the number of pages
  • the interface displays the layout exactly as it will appear in DOCX
